JESUS SAID, YOU MUST BE BORN AGAIN. WHY? (PART TWO)

The Gospel of Jesus Christ in its simplest explanation is that whosoever accepts Jesus as his Lord and Saviour and follows him, such will be delivered from the influence of sin and have his sinful nature replaced with the nature of God; such will also be rescued from the corruption of this world; such will be empowered to dominate, multiply and be fruitful as God’s original plan at creation of man; and ultimately, such will be saved from going to hell after the physical death. Therefore, whosoever possesses the life (nature) of God is eternally saved and will never perish. (John 3:16)

Furthermore, there is another life after the physical death because souls don’t die. Physical death is the departure of the soul from the body (carcass). But the big question is: where do souls go after departing from the body? The answer depends on the kind of life the soul lived while on earth and the pathway he chose on earth.

There are two pathways that men walk while on earth and each determines their destination after death: the path of life and the path of destruction.

THE PATH OF DESTRUCTION:

The Bible clearly states that there is a way which seems good in men’s eyes (natural sense) but it ends in destruction (Proverbs 14:12, 16:25). Hell is that place of destruction and the journey to hell begins from earth. The Holy Bible has shown us the set of people who are already walking in this path of destruction and these are those who don’t believe in God and Jesus His Son, the drunkards, murderers, blood-ritualists, liars, sexually immoral, disobedient, idolaters, cultists, thieves, deceivers, slanderers, etc. This path is called the path of destruction and is influenced by Satan, demons and self-will of men. This path leads to hell but it is never late (while you are still on earth) to repent and make a new decision to walk in the path of life.

THE PATH OF LIFE:

Jesus is the path of life. Religions and their founders zealously tried to create a path to please God but they never knew what the end would look like. Only Jesus gave us the guarantee that following him is the wisest and safest decision anyone would make that would definitely lead him or her to heaven where God lives and peace abides (John 14:2). This is why accepting Jesus into your life is paramount. He is the only one who can forgive and wash away all your sins no matter how grievous they are. He is the only one who can deliver you from the grip of sin and stand as your lawyer before God.

Jesus is the way to heaven and to God (John 14:6). Why? God designed it so because Adam being the prototype for all humans lost the nature of God and took up the nature of sin after his disobedience at the Garden of Eden (eating the fruit God forbade him not to eat). This made him, his offspring and all generations after him to become sinners (Genesis 2:16-17, Romans 5:12). Since then, the spirit of man became caged; his mind (which is the processor of thoughts and actions) is less influenced by his spirit and more influenced by his five senses (which see, smell, taste, hear and feel). Unfortunately, these five senses relate only with the physical and the physical things can be easily manipulated by Satan and demons (the enemies of God), men therefore willingly do the wishes of Satan which are always contrary to the will of God (Romans 8:5-8). This is how Satan takes authority over the soul of his victims in order to take them to hell – a place of pain, torture and agony.

So no matter how much the mankind aim to be righteous, the nature of sin dwells in us and we are readily condemned except we run to the feet of Jesus whose blood was shed to wash away the sins of men in order to stand as our lawyer before God (Matthew 1:21, 1 John 2:2, Revelation 1:5). This is how to be justified and rescued from death to life.

Thus, Jesus came as the restorer of God’s original purpose to mankind. The life of God (the eternal life and the Holy Spirit) was restored to mankind through Jesus. But it will be accessible only to those who choose to accept this great rescue plan. It is a matter of choice and not force or threat. Every man is given the free-will to decide but God advises us to choose the path of life, which is Jesus (Deuteronomy 30:19).

God does not wish any sinner would die in sin. Instead, he wants us to repent and forsake our sins. So he had packaged a new nature in Jesus Christ for everyone to possess. This new nature empowers mankind to stand blameless and justified before God and to live a victorious life while on earth.

In conclusion, after the death and resurrection of Jesus, he ascended to heaven to prepare a place for those who believe in him and follow him (John 14:3). Jesus is surely coming back to rescue (rapture) us from the last evils coming upon the earth; both the living and the dead whom Jesus is their Saviour (1 Corinthians 15:52). A new world is coming: a world of all-round peace where there is no death anymore. I am sure you look forward to that glorious day. If you do, it begins with you accepting Jesus as your Lord and Saviour.

It begins with you making a firm decision and determination to repent and forsake the path of destruction, and follow Jesus till the end (never to look back). This is what it means to become born again. This is what it means to be rescued from eternal condemnation. This why you must be born again!

Dear Lord Jesus,

I come to confess you as my Lord and Saviour today. Have mercy on me. Forgive me of my sins. Clean my sins away with your blood. Deliver me from worldliness and its lusts, from my flesh which is the sinful nature, and from the power of sin, death and hell. Write my name in the Book of Life. Count me worthy in your kingdom. Now I am born again. Thank you for saving me. Amen!

If you soberly, decisively and genuinely prayed the above prayers, it means you are now born again and have become a registered citizen of heaven and automatically an endorsed child of God.

With a joyful heart, ask the Holy Spirit to fill you with power and increase you in strength for victorious living. Ask Him to teach you while you study the Bible, to help you live a righteous life and lead you to a genuine church of God where you can worship God among His people, get taught in the Lord’s way and serve God. Then make sure you keep yourself unspotted from the corruption of this world, keep walking in faith and grow in grace of God. When you fall, don’t live in guilt, there is no more condemnation for those who are in Christ, rise up from your mess and sin no more. Be happy always. Pray in faith and receive all-round blessings from God. Do ‘good’ to humanity and bless others as much as you are blessed. Tell others about his saving grace and prepare for the return of Jesus.
